Solitude of Togetherness
I tire of this skin I wear,
the cloth stretched taut
over the bare
skeletal remains
of my words.
There are things within myself
I hold deep
lest they will be taken from me,
mocked and rejected.
Rejection is death.
Somewhere,
I stopped reaching
for you,
waiting
for you to listen. ©
